Keep Shorewood Beautiful
Emergency Action! Development threatens last natural wooded wetland area in Shorewood!
A developer has purchased about 7 acres of the last natural wooded wetland areas in Shorewood, Watten Ponds, for the development of at least two large single family homes, and up to 8 homes. This development involves the destruction of hundreds of trees and will threaten several natural wetlands and surrounding areas.
Because of this development's extreme environmental impact, impact on natural resources and extremely biased and irregular approval process, it has received a Development Score of ** F **.

Mission

Our Purpose
Keep Shorewood Beautiful is a community action group that supports responsible development that balances housing needs with our responsibility to maintain the unique quality of life for Shorewood residents and our need to protect our natural assets. Shorewood has unique natural assets, but we are at a crossroads as development expands, seemingly without any consideration for the impact of development on residents' quality of life and the character of our city. Our goal is to give residents a voice in the future of Shroewood and to support needed growth for Shorewood while maintaining the character and beauty of our region for future generations.
