What Can I Do To Help
If you’re concerned about the development of Watten Ponds and want to make your voice heard, there are several meaningful ways you can help:
1. Help Get the Word Out.
It is very important that people understand the benefits and risks of this development. There are several ways you can help get the word out so people can be informed:
* Share our link with your friends and neighbors, a quick text or email is very helpful. Just copy this link: https://www.keepshorewoodbeautiful.com/watten-ponds
* Follow us on Facebook and share our posts.
* Sign up for our newsletter.
* Host a yard sign. Email us at admin@keepshorewoodbeautiful.com and we'll hook you up!
* Hand out flyers. It's brisk but a nice walk is good for the soul! Email us if you'd like to distribute flyers in your neighborhood.

2. Contact City Leadership
Express your concerns directly to the City of Shorewood City Council and Planning Department by sending an email. Thoughtful, respectful messages from residents help ensure decision-makers understand the community’s perspective. See below for contact information and a sample email.

The pristine beauty of Watten Ponds.
3. Attend the February 9, 2026 City Council Meeting
Show your support or share your concerns in person by attending the City of Shorewood City Council Meeting on February 9, 2026, at 7:00 PM. Residents may speak during “Matters from the Floor,” an important opportunity for public input. ** You do not need to speak, we will have Save Watten Ponds stickers so you can show your support by showing up. If you would like to speak, you do not need to make a long or detailed speech, it helps if you just stand up and say "I oppose this development and urge you to vote against it." **
4. Share Your Experience or Expertise
If you have relevant professional knowledge, technical expertise, or personal experience that could help support our position as concerned residents, we welcome your involvement. Please email us at admin@keepshorewoodbeautiful.com. Your insight can make a real difference.
5. Spread the Word
Share this website and its information with your neighbors, friends, and other Shorewood residents. A well-informed and engaged community is essential to ensuring our collective concerns are heard.
Together, informed and active residents can help protect the interests and character of our community.

Dear Shorewood City Council,
I have reviewed and learned about the proposed development in Watten Ponds in Shorewood. I believe that the impact of this development is much greater than the benefits and that the application for this development should be denied. Please do not approve the Watten Ponds development application.
Sincerely,
